ARMSTRONG, Mary DeWeese

Mrs. Mary Deweese Armstrong died at her home in this city Sunday morning.  She had been sick for a year past and was very low last winter. She was born in Putnam County, Indiana 78 years ago and came to this county with her family when she was a girl 7 years of age. The family lived on what is now the Gudeman farm north of the city. Her death was the result of dropsy. Mr. Armstrong died about 9 years ago. The deceased was a well known old settler. Her children living in this city are Mrs. David Ralston, Mrs. Frank Reynolds, Mrs. Ella Howell and Miss Addie Armstrong. Another daughter, Mrs. Jane Reynolds, lives in Michigan and still another daughter, Mrs. Mattie Holmes in Clay County, Illinois. She leaves several sisters, Mrs. ED Smith of this city; Mrs. Elizabeth Miller of St. Louis and Mrs. Mattie Tandy of St. Louis. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o’clock from the Ceristian Church. Interment was made at the Mt. Zion cemetery.
